A financial planner’s average salary for careers within this field are typically in the mid-to high-income range.

Another choice for a potential graduate or undergraduate student seeking a degree in finance is the degree in bond trading, which can be completed in as little as two years after completing your undergraduate degree. A finance degree will usually require a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a field that generally has a high demand for skilled financial planners. These fields include foreign exchange, securities, insurance, investment banking, and investment management. A bond trading degree will generally require a minimum of a master’s degree or PhD in order to be eligible for employment in the financial planning field.

The last popular option for finance graduates is the degree in risk management, which can be completed in as little as three years after you have earned your undergraduate degree. You will need a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and at least one year of working experience in order to qualify for this position. These positions include investment banking, corporate finance, and insurance. A risk management degree typically requires a course centered on mathematical statistics, risk analysis, and portfolio management. A rewarding career in risk management can lead to additional advanced degrees such as those in insurance law, compliance management, financial forecasting, or business valuation.
